If your place of business has a pond, lake, or fountain on its grounds, you need to make sure you keep the water in good condition by regularly aerating it. Pond aerators and fountains increase the dissolved oxygen content of the water, which in turn provides a number of benefits including:
- Increase Habitat: Plant and animal life thrive due to increased oxygen in water
- Destratification: Water circulates to maintain a relatively even temperature at all lake or pond depths
- Water Quality: Better oxygen levels prevent plants underwater from releasing harmful gases that inhibit plant growth and wildlife
Improve Lake Appearance with a Fountain
One way to effectively aerate a pond or small lake is to include a fountain in the center. The fountain draws water from the lake or pond into an artful and attractive fountain above the water’s surface, and as the water falls back into the pond, it circulates and aerates the rest of the water. This is an easy and effective way to keep your pond or lake water healthy and clean. If you’re considering adding pond aerators and fountains to your property, make sure you discuss your needs with our skilled and knowledgeable professionals.

At Lake Doctor’s, we strive to help others by offering helpful aquatic services that help determine any potential problems or issues associated with your ponds and lakes. We are always excited to help others by formulating custom aquatic solutions and providing affordable pond aerators and fountains. Recently, Todd Denham, one of our biologists based out of our South Carolina office and Marine Corp veteran, was approached while getting gas at the only gas station in the small, rural town of Jamestown, SC. Our team passes through this town many times a month on the way to treat accounts in Myrtle Beach. The town administrator asked Todd for help in getting this memorial fountain back up and running for the family.
As a company which supports and employs many veterans, we, of course, were eager to assist. After performing a detailed aquatic survey, we determined this ornamental fountain only needed a $30 pump, about the size of a wallet. With the help of Seth Hester, our Fountain Manager, we were able to install the fountain at the Jamestown Town Square on our way to Myrtle Beach. A team success that helped restore a local and beloved fountain.
